12 Years of Directing & Design

Designing and engineering
complete brand worlds.

I am a Creative Director and Designer. I shape identities, design digital systems, and write live code across categories that share nothing except the standards I hold them to. From heirloom luxury and editorial spaces to subcultural nightlife and local trades, I design every brand to exist in its own inevitable reality.

Creative Rationale

A Creative Director’s value lies in taste, range, and judgment. Below are six live digital platforms, each built on a deliberate strategic choice: knowing exactly when to make a statement, and when to let the work speak.

The Problem

A Meridian, Idaho remodeling business with three decades of expert local craftsmanship was held back by a generic contractor website. Their audience—homeowners making five-figure legacy investments—needed trust signals and proof of quality, not chasing modern design trends that would alienate them.

The Decision

I built a digital home grounded in craftsmanship cues: calm, classic serif typography, structured layouts showcasing real photography, and an honest 1994–2026 milestone timeline. I kept the primary trust anchors—their physical address and phone number—clear and front-facing.

Director's Rationale

Home renovation is a high-consideration purchase. High-end clients do not want to feel "designed at." They respond to authority, legacy, and transparency. By prioritizing craftsmanship markers over empty digital styling, the site translates thirty years of physical trust into a premium digital presence.

Downpour Design

Independent Studio Brand for Makers

The Problem

Makers, artisans, and boutique product brands create high-quality tangible goods but often suffer from amateur digital branding. The challenge was to construct a design studio site that feels tactile, human, and direct, speaking to creators who distrust sterile corporate agencies.

The Decision

I designed a warm, editorial layout utilizing a paper-and-ink color palette, tactile photography direction, and an organic, broken-grid layout. The brand voice is intentionally direct, featuring a transparent, non-pushy inquiry process that respects client maturity.

Director's Rationale

Artisans build their livelihoods on physical texture and personal voice. A cold, dark "tech-studio" design would signal an operational mismatch. The tactile, warm-ink layout and honest copywriting immediately establish peer-level creative trust, proving the studio values their ethos.

ACHSM

Trust-First Local Trade

The Problem

Air Conditioning & Heating Service of Meridian had served the local community since 2017, earning over 300 five-star reviews. However, their online search visibility and mobile conversion paths were weak. In a home climate emergency, users need fast answers, not stylistic indulgence.

The Decision

I designed for raw utility, clarity, and rapid response. The layout places review counts, contact numbers, and clean service categories immediately at the top of the viewport. Every design choice supports speed—optimizing image payloads and using a clear three-service navigation system.

Director's Rationale

A customer dealing with a broken furnace in sub-zero weather wants immediate proof of legitimacy and a quick call-to-action. By treating conversion design as the core aesthetic priority rather than self-indulgent styling, the platform supports the operational goals of a trusted local trade.

Trammel Construction

Solo Contractor, Direct-Response

The Problem

Morgan Trammel runs a high-integrity, one-man outdoor construction service in Idaho. In a market crowded by large, faceless contractors using sub-contractors, his primary advantage was himself—no shortcuts, no middlemen, and direct personal accountability.

The Decision

Instead of wrapping a sole proprietor in corporate language, I built the entire brand layout around Morgan's personal reputation. The design highlights his direct involvement, referral-driven model, and single-point-of-contact approach, backed by bold, raw typography and large project details.

Director's Rationale

Homeowners hire independent builders for trust and reliability, not corporate overhead. Highlighting Morgan's direct oversight acts as a strong competitive anchor. The layout respects his business model by translating his personal commitment into a direct-response platform.

Platebodied

Extreme Metal Band Identity

The Problem

An underground metal project required a digital platform that matched their cyber-sigilism aesthetic. With near-zero standard band content, the website needed to feel like a complete atmospheric universe while housing real, live Shopify merchandise inventory.

The Decision

I shifted registers, designing a dark, glitch-heavy experience using terminal broadcast motifs, monochrome layouts, and coordinates. I integrated a Shopify system that processes merchandise transactions directly within the band's custom UI, avoiding generic commerce checkouts.

Director's Rationale

Subcultural communities value artistic authenticity. Standard retail platforms break immersion. By treating the merchant catalog as an extension of the band's digital aesthetic, the site supports their brand narrative while maintaining a highly functional transaction flow.

Bat-Haus

LA Underground Goth Night

The Problem

An LA underground gothic event night needed a digital invitation. The challenge was to project raw atmosphere, mystique, and community alignment without looking commercial or over-explaining the event details.

The Decision

I built a dark single-page landing experience around a stained-glass graphic language and a ritual schedule. Minimizing functional text, I established a portal entry sequence and prioritized direct integration with their main social community hub.

Director's Rationale

Underground goth audiences value mystique and cultural authenticity. Clean layouts and standard landing page structures would feel corporate and generic. The dark portal aesthetic and minimal text build intrigue, converting web traffic into dedicated community attendees.

For the past five years, I have served as the Creative Director and Design Manager at Thrive Web Designs. In this role, I directed digital and brand strategies for a portfolio of over 900 clients while building and mentoring a multidisciplinary design team. To scale output without compromising quality, I pioneered the integration of AI-powered design workflows using Gemini and Claude via Google Antigravity. This integration reduced our average design production time by over 80%—from 8–10 hours down to 1–2 hours per project—and leveraged Midjourney to remove asset bottlenecks for teams operating without a shoot budget.

Prior to my work at Thrive, I was a Graphic & Web Designer at Ironside, where during the COVID-19 pandemic I built and managed a livestreaming service that sustained over $1M in annual donation revenue for clients like Trinity Episcopal Church. My earlier roles include designing direct-response marketing at Highpoint Roofing that drove inbound calls in highly competitive regional markets, and establishing multi-brand direction for HomeASAP.

My experience is built on a clear progression: from direct-response production to operational leadership. I design systems that scale, mentor teams that execute, and build brand worlds that last.
